Matt Broffman is the Innovation Official for Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. In this role, Broffman is focused on using new technology to connect business, residents, and visitors with the City of Orlando. Prior to joining the City, Broffman founded and operated Bungalower.com, a local news site for downtown Orlando and the surrounding neighborhoods. Broffman’s previous roles include consulting with newspapers across the country on helping them better serve businesses and residents to find sustainable digital content and membership models for their business, working as a Product Manager for local data startup Korrelate, which was purchased by JD Power and Associates, and as the Sr. Product Manager at Tribune Interactive; responsible for Tribune’s eight newspaper websites including LATimes.com, ChicagoTribune.com and BaltimoreSun.com. Broffman is a graduate of University of Missouri Journalism School, where he was a Donald W. Reynolds Fellow from 2012 – 2013. The focus of the school was how newspapers can use technology to better connect communities.
